$100 Room Challenge Week One

Week 1|Week 2|Week 3|Week 4

Hi, I am super excited to be talking part in the $100 Room Challenge for September 2017!!! Thank you to Erin at Lemons Lavender and Laundry for hosting this challenge! If you would like a bit of background on the challenge click here:$100 Room Challenge To  be honest I don’t really have too many spaces left in my home that need to be updated. I live in a 960 square foot condo,  I have been here for 8 years, and I’m addicted to renovating so… limited selection. But my front deck is looking a bit worse for wear, and could defiantly stand a refresh. Here are my before photos

Here is my deck, with my aging sling set. The deck inn’t looking too bad as we just gave it a scrub a couple of weeks ago.

This is your standard 7’x12′ condo deck off of the living room. It has vinyl decking, which is nice and easy to keep clean. I bought the sling set at Zellers (Oh man, I loved that store!!) about TEN YEARS ago, I have defiantly gotten my money’s worth out of it. It’s still very sturdy although a bit worse for wear. But it works really well in the space so I want to refresh it and give it a new lease on life.

My 10 year old sling conversation set. It needs a bit of love

The fabric has stood up better than the frames

BBQ tucked away in the corner beside the door.

There is a small table too, but it’s currently doing fan duty (acting as a table for our oscillating fan) in the living room 🙂 Here is my game plan for this  4 week deck refresh under $100.

  • Clean and declutter (Step one of ANY project:))
  • Disassemble sling chairs
  • Sand/paint chairs
  • Replace fabric
  • Buy rug
  • Accessorize! (depending on my budget!)

Now I must head off to the fabric store to see if I can find a good deal on some fabric for the chairs and footstools. Once I get the fabric it will determine how much I have left for the rest of the refresh. Here’s hoping for a sale! See you next week! If you want to find out how this turns out, subscribe to my blog, and you’ll get an email when I post!

Hey Morgan, I know hey? It’s the classic condo balcony. Lucky for me I have a second one (which you will see soon) which I refer to as my “back deck” and it’s much bigger. But these one are standard condo fare! Hopefully I do it justice for all those tiny condo decks to there 🙂

Thanks Lindsay, I contemplated doing my laundry room, but the thought of having to move the stackable washer and dryer ended that one in a hurry!
