Renovating Greg’s Condo

So, here goes my latest project. This is my boyfriend Greg’s condo. We have been together for 7 years, and have lived in the same building in different condos. His is on the second floor, and mine is on the 3rd floor (top floor). We have finally decided to sell both places and move in to a bigger better place. More room for us and the critters. I really really want a rec-room or space where all the JUNK can go, and stay, as opposed to being in my living room.

We will start by fixing up and selling his place, then pack and store the “stuff” I use the term loosely, as with lots of men, seems like most of this stuff should go in the donate/toss bin 🙂 But of course, that is only my opinion!

Since we have pretty much been living out of my condo for the last few years, Greg’s place is pretty dirty and neglected. It needs some updating and staging prior to selling. I happen to think I am very good at this. But I am one of those people who thinks everything is going to be very easy, and then I am surprised when it’s not.

For the first stage, I am just concentrating on cleaning (scrub, scrub scrub) and tidying. Once everything is cleaned I will start on painting and upgrades. Some of the upgrades will include refinishing or replacing the kitchen counter tops, possibly replacing the kitchen floor, tiling the back splash. I think the bedroom will be the easiest and and have the best impact.

Step one: Take before pictures. This is the step I always seem to forget. And once the reno is done, it is too late for before pictures. I will take the before pics tonight! Then scrub some more dirt and cat fur off of everything.

Stay tuned.

Great job Deneen!! What a difference. Heather and Dave want to redo their kitchen so will try to forward what you have done for them to see. They don’t want to spend a fortune either as it is an old house that has had some improvements done but realize that when they decide to sell in the next few years it will be a tear-down. I like to counter solution. We would love to see it when it is done.
