6 Month Update New Home Projects

Holy cow, it’s already been over SIX MONTHS since we moved into the new house! It really doesn’t seem like that long. If you read my post, when we moved, you will know that I was worried that there wouldn’t be enough new home projects to keep me busy.  Ha ha!! Oh yeah, there are projects…

Done and Done!!

Here is a quick overview of some of the projects that I have completed since we moved. You can click on the photos to view the post

One of the very first projects that I tackled was my recycling station in the garage. I don’t know about you but we make a LOT of recycling. And they only come and pick it up once every TWO WEEKS! That’s a lot of stuff that needs to be sorted and stored. I found a super easy solution to this. Click on the photo for more information.

Another project in the garage is this easy DIY workbench that we put together with lumber and plywood.

I’m still working at getting the garage just how I want it to be, and will be posting some more updates soon!

Here are the things I’m currently working on:

  • Slat wall for tools
  • Personalizing the space
  • Always more organized storage

On the Inside

One of the first projects that I wanted to sort out for the house was the pantry. Our kitchen in the new house has a bit less cupboard space than our old kitchen. And I have always loved pantries. I had one in my first house, and have NEEDED one ever since. This is a good way to add one where you don’t have enough existing cupboards.

But there will be plenty of time to work on inside projects when the weather gets yucky again, which will be too soon! Here are some of the things that are on the list for the fall:

  • Walk in Closet Update
  • Office/Sewing/Craft Room
  • Upholstered Bedframe and Headboard
  • Master Bedroom Refresh
  • Livingroom Update

The Great Outdoors

And the reason that I got so distracted is because this is our first spring/summer in our new yard!! We really lucked out with this yard, it’s so fabulous.  Recently I did a 6 week yard transformation challenge and you can click on any of the weeks here:

My garden tool storage wall  from Week 5 is one of my favourites 🙂

Here are a couple of shots of how nice the yard is shaping up.

Amazing how much difference a fresh coat of stain makes.

At the moment I’m very busy making the shed more organized and tidy. I’m adding a garden/work bench with lots of STORAGE (I love storage). I’ll be sharing some new posts on this space soon!

Also, I keep toying with what to do with the graveled space behind the shed. Maybe put in some raised garden boxes, or maybe one of those stand up pools to keep cool in the summer. Or move the shed back and make more space in front… It just seems like unused space, so there are a lot of projects percolating in my head. Feel free to comment  below if you have any suggestions!

So there you go! Those are my new home projects! Not too bad for the six month mark. Let’s see what I can get accomplished by the end of our first year.

Thanks for hanging out with me!

Oh I love how everything looks! I adore your pantry with all the seasonings cleverly marked. The yard looks so beautiful.
