I wanted to put something together for a Valentines Day wreath but couldn’t decide what to do. Then I saw this pin for this really pretty wreath made with Christmas ornaments. I really like the shine is has.
I clicked on her link to go and check it out, and she is selling these for $411 – WHAT ?!?! What say we just make our own 😉

Supplies
I went to Michaels to find a heart shaped wire wreath frame. But the only one that they had was this one. Luckily I was planning on wrapping it with Tinsel Garland anyway, so they just saved me a step!
If you aren’t lucky enough to find one already all wrapped up in garland you can easily do this yourself by attaching with a hot glue gun and just wrapping the garland around the wire wreath until it’s all covered up. This piece is important. Otherwise you will have nothing to stick your ornaments on to. And plus it fills in all of those little spaces between the round ornaments, so your don’t have gaps.
Christmas Left-Overs
I have a lot of Christmas ornaments in different colours, and I had a whole box of small red bauble ornaments, that I wasn’t really using anymore, so I opted to recycle those. If you don’t have any spare Christmas decorations, fear not, I have you covered. Because they sell Christmas Ornaments ALL YEAR LONG on Amazon – Yay!!!! So, you are good. Pick your colour or colours and go! Also, you might luck out and find some left-over stuff in the clearance section at your favourite craft store for 80% off. Hell, get them anyway for next Christmas 🙂
The ornaments that I used only had 2 different designs. One was smooth and the other like a tiny little disco ball :). I think the next time I do this, I will use a few different sizes. I just stuck with straight red this time around.
Putting it Together
Heat up your glue gun and start applying the balls. I found the best way to do this was to pick a spot and poke around with an ornament before you add glue. Then I would glue around the hanger area of the ornament, which I left on.
Then using your dry ornament poke around again to make sure you know where you want it. Swap out the one with glue for the dry one. This just eliminates trying to move them once they are stuck on, which is something you don’t want to do.
I would swirl my hand around the ornament after gluing and before placing it on the wreath to get rid of those little stringy pieces of glue that you inevitably get from a hot glue gun. I placed the ornaments randomly all over the wreath, so it didn’t appear too methodical. Then just kept working my way around until all of the space was filled up.
Once you are done attaching all the ornaments that you want, just fix up any spots where you may need to glue the ornaments to one another to keep them in their place. If you like you can stop at this step if you are happy with your wreath, or you can keep going!
Extra Embellishments
For a final touch I added some Metallic Curling Ribbon that I picked up at the dollar store. It’s just a really awesome shade of fuchsia. I used an upholstery needle and threaded the ribbon through the eye, and then just ran it through the wreath here and there, without any real pattern or intent.
And then I decided it needed a bit more POP, so I took some 12″ lengths of curling ribbon and after curling them, I just wrapped them around the ornaments here and there. Honestly I didn’t even glue them. But I would advise using glue if you are hanging your wreath outdoors.
And you are done! Now go hang that bad boy on your wall or your door
Or…
You could also use this as a centerpiece for your valentines table. Look at you multi-tasking!

Thanks Jazzy. I have kind of a LOT of Christmas ornaments. At some point you need to start recycling 🙂
