It seems that I have come to the end of my Greg’s Condo project. Since it has been renovated, staged listed and SOLD!
But that is only step one. Next step is to go SHOPPING!!!!
It’s been a while since I bought a place. I love the automation of it all now. Every time a new listing that meets my criteria comes online, I automatically get an email to my inbox. Seriously, it’s like getting little presents. So exciting to open that email up and see if my dream house is inside, actually in my case, it’s more of a dream townhouse.
Actually there was a townhouse that I really liked, and maybe could have loved. In one of my favorite locations, for those of you who are local, it’s Lochside drive. So beautiful and green there. But we had just entered the market as buyers, and it was already sold and just going unconditional. Bummer! The beauty thing though is that it went for $20k UNDER list. So, it is possible to not end up in a multiple offer scenario. Here is a shot from the beautiful kitchen.
Then we looked at a townhouse in North Saanich, which is about. a half hour drive to where I work We put an offer in on it, but we only went in at list price, because it is the first one we offered on, and you just never go big on the first one. It went for $103k over list price!! Yikes, this market is scary. Here is the yard from that one
Oh well, there is always another one around the corner. Isn’t there?? Also, my condo is not even listed. So, we are not on a tight timeline. My place is completely updated and only needs a bit of touch up paint in a couple of spots, some de-cluttering, and a deep clean.
My condo has 2 decks. The usual condo style front deck, which is about 4 x 8 feet. And then I have an amazing deck off the bedroom that is about 14 x 14′. A major selling feature for a condo. Especially if properly staged. When I bought the place, it looked like this.
Here is what it looks like now
I’m glad that we didn’t sell my place, because I would be pretty stressed out if we had a tight timeline to adhere to. We won’t sell mine until after we have bought, so it will take as long as it takes. That said, I would be lying if I said I wasn’t feeling a bit stressed out about not knowing where we are going to live.
Well all we can do is wait and see what shows up. I will keep you posted
